Bonsai Defense
Bonsai Defense is a tower defense game on a procedurally generated tree with multiple gameplay options. The player controls the shape of the tree and what types of fruits to grow on it. Fruits act as your towers, each with a different role: Shooter: shoots weak bullets at nearby enemies, Tendril: delivers powerful stings to larger invaders, Bomb: goes kaboom when fed enough, Web: projects sticky webs that slow invaders, and Generator: creates energy for others. Invaders come in many different shapes and forms, each with their own tactics, which will be determined by their innate attributes and your choices in combat.
Unlike traditional bonsai that is very stylised and abstract, a naturalistic bonsai aims to produce small trees which look as much as possible like wild trees. When this is achieved people who have no knowledge of bonsai and/or Art often find it hard to appreciate these trees because they don’t match their expectations.
It is very important to have a well balanced rhizosphere for the health of your plants. This will ensure that harmful pests are either prevented from gaining access to the plant, or will meander off towards easier prey. It is also possible that with good care the use of soil application pesticides may be unnecessary.
The word'style' is used incorrectly in bonsai as it does not relate to any general style of Art. It is a developed taste that most bonsai practitioners learn through their Japanese sources. The overwhelming majority of the bonsai community have a developed Japanese taste and therefore will expect to see bonsai that looks as similar as possible to their expectations. This is why they are generally offended when they see bonsai in a naturalistic style.
